Saw Ann Ping, CFA

Saw Ann Ping is a CFA charterholder with over 18 years experience in financial advisory, fund raising and consulting. Her areas of specialization are privatisation, Islamic finance (for capital market and direct financing) and structuring. Her work has been recognised by various Malaysian and international bodies such as Euromoney, RAM and Islamic Finance News for its innovation. Her expertise in Islamic finance is recognised through various awards from local and international bodies. Her last position was head of wholesale banking for Hong Leong Islamic Bank. Prior to that, she was the head of corporate finance in RHB ISLAMIC Bank and head of corporate banking and debt securities in Utama Merchant Bank for which she established the privatisation unit in 1997. Before becoming an investment banker, she was a management consultant with Arthur Andersen, involved in various advisory projects for the Asian Development Bank, KL International Airport and other Government agencies and the private sector.

Some of the projects / clients she has been involved in include KLIA, Mukah power plant, Asian Development technical study, Faber Medi-Serve hospital support services, interstate raw water transfer privatisation, Northern Waste solid waste management privatisation, Murum hydroelectric plant, Syarikat SESCO Corporation Berhad, Sarawak Power, Sejingkat Power, Instacom telecommunication towers, Projek Lintasan Shah Alam, FEC Cables, Japan Bank for International Cooperation (“JBIC”), Kuching Port Authority and PLUS Highway.

She was a speaker at China Development Bank’s Senior Policy Seminar in Beijing and at the Middle East Business Forum in Dubai on Islamic finance for infrastructure projects. The Mukah power plant for which she structured and raised financing for has been referenced in both JBIC’s book on infrastructure project finance in Malaysia and RAM’s Malaysian Sukuk Handbook. She holds a Bachelor of Science (honours) degree from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, majoring in Economics and Operations Research. Courses that she conducted, amongst others, are Financial Mastery for SMEs, Financial Mastery for public listed companies, Cash Flow Modelling and Debt Capital Market.


 

Chan Leng Kei

With a degree in Economics & Management, Chan Leng Kei was awarded theBest Overall Performance from the prestigious London School of Economics.  Her strong education background coupled with 8 years of experience in banking and financial advisory has enabled her to oversee the successful completion of various large infrastructure projects and performed numerous financial analysis and cash flow modelling for small and large corporations.  Her Islamic finance experience has enabled her to develop Musharakah and Mudharabah partnership based commercial structures that are mutually beneficial to both investors and clients. The financing structures that she was involved in have been recognised by various Malaysian and international bodies such as Euromoney, RAM and Islamic Finance News for innovation. The team's expertise in Islamic finance is recognised through various awards from local and international bodies.

Prior to joining Symphony Digest Sdn Bhd, she was attached to Hong Leong Islamic Bank Berhad, RHB ISLAMIC Bank Berhad, Utama Merchant Bank Berhad and Bumiputra-Commerce Bank Berhad. Courses that she conducted, amongst others, are Financial Mastery for SMEs, Financial Mastery for public listed companies, Cash Flow Modelling and Debt Capital Market.
